Questions for Your Customer
Use the answers to choose the most suitable model from the table below.
Bandwidth ➤ What is the frequency of the signal you will need to view with the scope?
  A good rule of thumb is to select an oscilloscope that has a bandwidth at least 5x larger than the max frequency of the signals they will be measuring.
Number of channels   How many signals do you need to see at one time?
  Select a digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) with 2, 4, or 8 analog channels only or a mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) with additional 8 or 16 digital timing channels.
Memory depth How long of a time record do you need?
  Select an oscilloscope that has sufficient memory to capture longer periods of time at high sample rates.
Segmented memory Are any of your signals bursting or packetized in nature?
  Segmented memory is standard on all Keysight oscilloscopes, with the exception of the EDUX in the 1000 X-Series.
Serial bus Are any of your signals serial buses?
  Select a serial bus trigger/decode application: USB 2.0, I2C/SPI, RS-232/UART, CAN/LIN, FlexRay, USB 2.0, etc. Refer to the application chart on each product page.
Mask testing Do you need to perform any fast go/no-go type testing to a known standard or golden waveform?
  Mask testing is standard in the 1000X (DSOX models), 3000G X-Series, 4000G X-Series, and available as an optional software license on all other InfiniiVision oscilloscopes.
Signal generation Do you need to generate arbitrary or standard function signals with your device?
  WaveGen is standard on the G models of the 1000 X-Series, 3000G X-Series, 4000G X-Series, HD3 Series, and EXR Series optional on all other InfiniiVision models. Find more details for license options on each of the following product pages.
Probing Do you have any specific probing needs?
  Select an active probe if scope bandwidth is ≥ 700 MHz. A variety of active, differential, high-voltage, current and passive probes are available. See page 75 for more information.
